Registration includes lunch and a copy of the newly-released edition of Aquatic Plants of the Upper Midwest. Discount available for WWA members!

Join aquatic botanist and Aquatic Plants of the Upper Midwest author Paul Skawinski to learn about submergent and floating aquatic plants. Paul will use live and preserved specimens to teach about the diversity and adaptations of aquatic plants and how to distinguish between the 170+ species we have here in the Upper Midwest. He’ll also discuss macro-algae such as the muskgrasses (Chara spp. and others) in detail. The workshop will conclude with field sampling on the highly diverse Mission Lake, where participants will practice their skills and receive one-on-one assistance with identification. Field sampling will be done with rope rakes from shore or by shallow wading (if desired).
