WORKSHOP DETAILS
Introductory Wetland Restoration Workshop in Dane County
WWA invites landowners, land managers, interested citizens, and members/staff/leaders of outdoor sporting groups, lake and river groups, land trusts, and other conservation organizations to join us for a hands-on workshop on wetland restoration. This introductory level workshop will begin with a morning classroom session followed by a tour of a series of wetland field sites in western Dane County.
Workshop will be led by instructors:
Alice Thompson, Owner of Thompson & Associates
Wetlands Services and co-author of WWA’s Wetland Restoration Handbook for Wisconsin Landowners
Jeff Nania, Executive Director of Wisconsin Waterfowl Association
Art Kitchen, USFWS Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program.
This day-long workshop will introduce participants to:
The basics of wetland ecology.
What to look for in a potential restoration site.
How to use different restoration techniques.
The basics of regulations and permitting.
How to fit it all into a complete restoration plan.

$50 - Wisconsin Wetlands Association members
$75 - Non Members (join WWA to receive reduced fee)
