Catching up with the local approval process

The details of approval processes vary depending on what is being proposed and where it is being proposed. It is likely that you will learn about a proposed development while it is somewhere along its path to approval. While it’s always good to get in early, don’t worry too much about that. It’s typical that a development will have gone through part of the approval process before the community catches up with it. Don’t hesitate to ask the appropriate government body to delay its decision while you gather information and talk to your neighbors so that the community can make an informed decision.
