If you’re a wetland beginner interested in learning how to identify wetland plants in the field or an experienced wetland professional looking to brush up, this course is for you! National expert Dr. Robert Mohlenbrock is back by popular demand to teach a spring course on October 11 - 14. This 4-day workshop is an intensive, hands-on field course where the distinguishing characteristics and habitat requirements of every plant encountered will be discussed.
Participants will visit a variety of wetland sites in the Whitewater area and will learn to identify dozens of plants using only field characteristics. Participants who enjoyed previous courses can register again - new material will be covered as this is our first fall course (perfect for learning fall bloomers like asters). No prior experience in botany is required.
Dr. Mohlenbrock, emeritus professor from Southern Illinois University, writes the popular column "This Land" for Natural History magazine and teaches workshops throughout the country.
