Additional Resources on How Local Governments Can Protect and Restore Wetlands

The Center for Watershed Protection (CWP) and Association of State Wetland Managers (ASWM) have been prominent in the development of wetland-specific educational resources for local governments. Links to many of their excellent publications are provided below. Links to wetland protection publications written for local government officials in other states are also provided. Though, the wetland regulatory framework and wetland acreage and types vary by state, the local policy and planning approaches recommended in these guides can be readily adopted and implemented by local governments in Wisconsin.
