Wetlands make learning fun! Did you know wetlands can be used as an integrating concept to teach science, reading, math, art, and social studies? This day-long workshop is focused on helping K-12 educators bring wetlands alive in the classroom and will feature hands-on multi-disciplinary activities. Each participant will receive a copy of WOW! The Wonders of Wetlands, which is recognized as an excellent resource by NAAEE & NSTA and has over 50 hands-on activities (correlated to National Science Education Standards). Participants will learn outdoor activities with the three critical parameters of wetland habitats (soil, water, and plants). All activities are designed to increase understanding of the ecological functions and values of wetlands, and to promote informed decision-making regarding wetlands.
