REGISTRATION CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
WWA will refund registration payments for cancellations made on or before Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made after February 8th -- within one week of the conference -- because of costs incurred by our organization (for meals, printed materials, etc.). Cancellations can be made by phone (608-250-9971), email (register[at]wisconsinwetlands.org) or mail (must be received by February 8th; mail to 222 S. Hamilton St. #1 Madison, WI 53703). Substitute participants are welcome, but please notify our office of substitutes by Tuesday, February 8. Thank you for understanding our need for this policy. Please call 608-250-9971 if you have any questions.
HOW TO REGISTER
WWA is excited to debut online registration for our annual conference this year as part of our ongoing effort to conserve natural and financial resources.
Note: Online Registration is now closed.
A note to Sponsors and Exhibors whose benefits include complimentary conference and/or banquet registration(s): please contact Brooke Bushman at register[at]wisconsinwetlands.org for information about how to register your representatives.
A note to Presenters: to take advantage of your $15 presenter discount, use the registration link provided in the email sent to you on December 14, 2010 confirming acceptance of your abstract.
If you are unable to register online (or have any difficulties with this process), please call our office at 608-250-9971 to register by phone. If you prefer or require a paper registration form, please contact register[at]wisconsinwetlands.org or 608-250-9971 to request a paper or pdf registration form.
We also welcome your feedback on the online registration process, as this is a new feature for us. Help us make it easier for you but still provide the information we need to plan the conference. Send your comments to programs[at]wisconsinwetlands.org or call 608-250-9971. Thank you!
STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Thanks to the generosity of We Energies and The Nature Conservancy, WWA is again able to offer a limited number of scholarships for students with demonstrated need to enable these students to attend the conference. Scholarships cover registration costs for recipients, and may be able to offset a portion of travel costs.
To be considered for a scholarship, please complete a scholarship application form and email it to register[at]wisconsinwetlands.org by Monday, January 3, 2011. Scholarship recipients will be notified by Friday, January 7, 2011.
Other sources of funding for students may include:
- Society of Wetland Scientists. If you are a student member of the Society of Wetland Scientists, we encourage you to apply to the North Central Chapter's Student Travel Grant program, which in recent years has provided selected students financial support to attend professional meetings in the North Central region, such as WWA's conference.
- The Wetland Foundation provides travel grants for students to attend wetland-focused conferences.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT SCHOLARSHIP New for 2011
Wisconsin Wetlands Association is offering a new scholarship this year for someone with demonstrated conference-related information technology skills. This scholarship is open to any qualified person, student or otherwise. In exchange for providing the following services throughout the conference, the selected applicant will be provided with complimentary registration for the two-day conference (including the banquet) as well as two night’s accommodation at the conference hotel.
To be considered for this scholarship (and to see a full job description for this scholarship), please complete an application form and email it to register[at]wisconsinwetlands.org by Monday, January 3, 1011. Scholarship applicants will be notified of our decision by Friday, January 7, 2011.
